Emily + Jef

Celebrating their one week of going public anniversary on the Bachelorette's After The Final Rose episode, here are my thoughts on Emily's final decision....

After all my talk on Team Sean, I must admit it....after watching the finale and the ATFR show, I am sold on Emily + Jef!! They are precious, and you know, I'm thinking there's a chance this one might work! Guess we'll see.

Jef is quite the quirky one, but his humor had me from their London date.  And the way the last day unfolded in Curacao, well, you just can't make reality tv much better than that.

And rumor has it, they're in Ghana right now doing work for People Water.

I really am hoping for the best for these two, and of course, little Ricky!

4 months

As usual, I'm a few days late posting our monthly photos.  But, here we are at 4 months!

For most of the time, our little guy is a smiley, happy baby boy.

A few stats:
- He's 75th percentile in weight, 16 lbs, 2 oz
(so he's gained some good weight!)
- 98th percentile in height! 26 7/8 inches long
- His (large) head circumference is 17 inches
- He can now roll over from his tummy to his back
- Tries to put everything in his mouth (as evidenced below)
- Sleeps (or at least stays in his crib) from ~8:30pm - 7:45am
- Still naps 3 times a day, but that's probably about to
change, as he's started fighting it pretty good

As I mentioned earlier, loves to put everything in his mouth.  His fist,
your fist, Scout's fist :), hair, necklaces, burp cloths, etc.

so I thought I'd see what he did with the 4 month sign...
yep, straight to his mouth

He's also starting to stand when we pull him up.  He LOVES it!
Still not sitting up yet, but he's trying!

And just because I so often put the best of the best on this blog...
here's a little dose of the reality at times.  An unhappy baby.

on the campaign trail

As I've mentioned previously, my dad is running for U.S. Congress for the 12th district.  You can find out more about his campaign here, but I just thought I'd share some of the latest things that we've been able to be a part of.

First are a few snapshots from The Atlanta Press Club, Loudermilk Young debate that we got to attend last night.

this is one of my favorite split photos...love how my dad can go from
future congressman to Daddy Big (his grandpa name) in a matter of minutes

And finally, here is Hammond's TV DEBUT!!  :)  Two of the commercials that are running in the 12th district.  The first one is my favorite!

Jamie turns 30!

Jamie finally caught up with me, and turned 30 this past Sunday!  Here are a few snapshots of how we celebrated my favorite man.

Saturday night dinner out at The Optimist

while H-man hung out with Grandma Sue-Sue;
we had an early dinner and got home in time to put him down
(can you say suckers?  guess you can tell we're new parents!)

Sunday morning, J got to open his gift!  It was so large that I had to
hide it with a drop cloth, and made a bow with painter's tape.

And it's a Big Green Egg!  Yay for yummy smoked dinners to come!

Sunday afternoon, we took a canoe ride down the Hooch.

And it was a perfect afternoon!

Pool time at Sue-Sue's

We closed the night out with a small dinner with friends and family.

I sure hope Jamie felt as loved and celebrated as he makes us feel every day.  Cheesy?  Yes.  But, do I mean it?  Yeah....

4th of July

We had such a great, full week, celebrating the 4th of July.

The first part of the week, Jamie took a guy's trip to Puerto Rico (or as he called it, an "exploratory" trip for a future family vacation there :).

love technology...face timing with daddy

Since he was gone, Hammond and I headed to Cashiers to join my mom for a few days of peace and quiet (i.e. mountain life).  So nice.

Then everyone else arrived...

Hammond loves his cousins!

lake time

4th of July celebration at High Hampton...included llamas this year

GO DAD!!
(reminder, if you're in the 12th district, vote Rick W. Allen for Congress!!)

these girls can eat some ribs...love them!

chillin' out

and chillin' some more

then we started J's 30th bday celebrations

capping off the night with our annual dance party

while the dad's/husband's golfed, we did a little hiking

and rock wall climbing

and one of the best parts...was how much help and lovin' on we got from all the family

Such a fun week, and then we went right on to more celebrating of Jamie's 30th....post to come.

3 months

I'm a little late on these, but here are some photos of Hammond at three months!

I know you hear this from all parents, but once those first two weeks of his life (that seemed to last forever :) were over, it's hard to imagine where the time has gone!

These pictures were all too perfect for where our little man is.  During his awake time, he is the happiest, smiley-est, more adorable little boy.  He is so busy...moving his arms and legs around all over the place.  He's also into trying to fit anything into his mouth -  both fists (as pictured above), his thumb, anyone else's' thumb/fingers, Sophie the giraffe, his burp cloths, bibs...you name it.  He's also figured out how to roll over, which has slightly interrupted our naps (once he rolls over, he doesn't know how to roll back). No official stats, as he didn't have a 3 month check-up.

But people are right, it really does get better every day.
